The old plastic Spencer Smiths were semi flat and both fitted happily on an half inch frontage. (also a reason why they could cope with so many big batalions. Try doing Lobowitz with Front Ranks without hiring a village hall !)

Anyway we have introduced an amendment with Charge that the number of infantry figures taking part in a melee can never exceed the number of cavalry. So far it seems to work.

Not that I am trying to bring you ack to Charge. I understand that its probably just a phase and you will return to the one great set in time.

Johnjohnpreecehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05548014163096067684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5190409787968119430.post-66585483319511815652009-03-17T05:43:00.000-07:002009-03-17T05:43:00.000-07:00I've modified the ruleset I use to give the infant...I've modified the ruleset I use to give the infantry a 50% chance of firing at 'long range' (or ineffective volley) when charged by cavalry. This gives the cavalry a chance to close, without being splattered.

-- Allanold-tiddershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05055135576841243361noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5190409787968119430.post-90659272320438826542009-03-16T18:21:00.000-07:002009-03-16T18:21:00.000-07:00Hi Andy,Well, understanding of the rules, or not, ...Hi Andy,

Well, understanding of the rules, or not, your "experiment" provides a lovely old school vignette over which we can drool -- figuratively speaking, of course!

Best Regards,

StokesWSTKS-FM Worldwidehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14173042438761572040noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5190409787968119430.post-84596235967574777552009-03-12T10:23:00.000-07:002009-03-12T10:23:00.000-07:00Interesting . . . when I feel better, I'll dig out...Interesting . . . when I feel better, I'll dig out my Grant and follow this with more mental clarity.
